Vermillion data breach: 8106 accounts exposed

In August 2014, the Roblox hacking forum Vermillion suffered a data breach that exposed over 8k subscriber records. The breach of the MyBB forum exposed email and IP addresses, usernames, dates of birth and salted password hashes. Exposed data: dates of birth, email addresses, ip addresses, passwords, usernames. The breach dates from Aug 30, 2014; Have I Been Pwned loaded it on Jul 11, 2023.
What to do
- If you had a Vermillion account, change its password and the password of any other account that reused it.
- Turn on multi-factor authentication wherever it is offered.
- Check whether your addresses are in this breach at https://haveibeenpwned.com.
- Expect targeted phishing that quotes the leaked details; verify any unexpected contact out of band.
