Veritas Backup Exec (BE) Agent contains a command execution vulnerability that could allow an attacker to use a data management protocol command to execute a command on the BE Agent machine. CISA added CVE-2021-27878 to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on Apr 7, 2023, which means attackers are exploiting it in the wild. CISA reports known use in ransomware campaigns.
