Veritas Backup Exec (BE) Agent contains an improper authentication vulnerability that could allow an attacker unauthorized access to the BE Agent via SHA authentication scheme. CISA added CVE-2021-27877 to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on Apr 7, 2023, which means attackers are exploiting it in the wild. CISA reports known use in ransomware campaigns.
