RARLAB WinRAR Path Traversal Vulnerability (CVE-2025-8088)

RARLAB WinRAR contains a path traversal vulnerability affecting the Windows version of WinRAR. This vulnerability could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code by crafting malicious archive files. CISA added CVE-2025-8088 to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on Aug 12, 2025, which means attackers are exploiting it in the wild. CISA reports known use in ransomware campaigns.
