GeoVision Devices OS Command Injection Vulnerability (CVE-2024-11120)

Multiple GeoVision devices contain an OS command injection vulnerability that allows a remote, unauthenticated attacker to inject and execute arbitrary system commands. The impacted products could be end-of-life (EoL) and/or end-of-service (EoS). Users should discontinue product utilization. CISA added CVE-2024-11120 to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on May 7, 2025, which means attackers are exploiting it in the wild.
What to do
- Apply mitigations per vendor instructions, follow applicable BOD 22-01 guidance for cloud services, or discontinue use of the product if mitigations are unavailable.
- US federal agencies must remediate by May 28, 2025 (BOD 22-01); treat that as the outer limit.
