Citrix ADC, Gateway, and SD-WAN WANOP Appliance Authorization Bypass Vulnerability (CVE-2020-8193)

Citrix ADC, Citrix Gateway, and multiple Citrix SD-WAN WANOP appliance models contain an authorization bypass vulnerability that may allow unauthenticated access to certain URL endpoints. The attacker must have access to the NetScaler IP (NSIP) in order to perform exploitation. CISA added CVE-2020-8193 to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on Nov 3, 2021, which means attackers are exploiting it in the wild.
What to do
- Apply updates per vendor instructions.
- US federal agencies must remediate by May 3, 2022 (BOD 22-01); treat that as the outer limit.
