Cisco IOS Software Common Industrial Protocol Request Denial-of-Service Vulnerability (CVE-2017-12234)

There is a vulnerability in the implementation of the Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) feature in Cisco IOS could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause an affected device to reload, resulting in a denial of service. CISA added CVE-2017-12234 to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog on Mar 3, 2022, which means attackers are exploiting it in the wild.
